The voice library
Offbook has a library of 20+ realistic AI voices with a range of ages, genders, and qualities. Six voices are included on every plan: Riley, Will, Margaret, Richard, Charlotte, and James. The full library unlocks on Pro and Premium (locked voices show a "Pro" badge).
Every voice has a preview: tap the play button next to it to hear a sample before assigning it.
Assigning voices to characters
Each non-player character in a scene gets its own voice. When you set up a scene you can:
- Auto-assign: confirm each character's gender, and Offbook picks fitting voices for the whole cast at once.
- Choose manually: assign any voice to any character.
You can change a character's voice later and regenerate their lines.
Regenerating audio
Edited a line, changed a voice, or just want a different read? Select the line in Edit Scene and choose Regenerate Audio. Each generation counts toward your monthly audio allowance.
Voice clone: record your own delivery
Sometimes you need a line delivered exactly a certain way: a specific pace, a specific emphasis. Voice Clone lets you record a line yourself; your recording is used for that line's playback so the cue comes at you precisely how you rehearsed it.
Fine-tuning playback
- Per-line speed: 0.5× to 2× on any line.
- Trim audio: cut dead air from the start or end of a generated line.
- Pause before: add a beat (0.5-5s) ahead of any line.
