What Genie is
Genie is Offbook's built-in acting expert and script analyst. It reads your uploaded script and answers questions about it: character motivation, beat breakdowns, subtext, pronunciation, historical context, whatever helps your prep.
When your script is processed, Genie automatically prepares a title and summary for the scene, plus suggested questions an actor might ask about it, a good starting point if you're not sure what to dig into.
Referencing lines and words
- Click any line in the script to reference it in your next message ("what's my character really saying here?").
- Hover a word to look it up instantly, which is handy for unfamiliar terms and names.
Chat styles
Change Genie's perspective to fit the kind of feedback you want: Director's Chair, Acting Coach, Script Analyst, Inner Voice, Cheerleader, Critic, Improv Buddy, or write your own custom instructions.
Script breakdowns (Pro & Premium)
On Pro and Premium you can upload a writer's breakdown or other production notes alongside your script, giving Genie deeper context for its answers.
Monthly limits
Genie messages ("insights") reset each billing period: Starter includes 200 per month, Pro includes 1,000, and Premium is unlimited. If you hit your limit, it resets on your next billing date, or you can upgrade for more.
